The Hard Truth About File Security
With server-side encryption, your files can be accessed by the service provider. If their servers are compromised or they are legally compelled, your data is at risk. With BeamIt's client-side encryption, you are the only person who holds the key.
Only someone with both your Beam ID and Decryption Key can access your files. Unfortunately, if you lose your decryption key, we can't recover the data. But that's a feature, not a bug.
